As a graduate of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and the College of Law, Shona qualified as a Manx advocate in 2001 having been articled to Rob Long and trained at Dickinson Cruickshank. Shona continued to practice in the private client/property department of Dickinson Cruickshank with Mark Humphrey until 2009.
In 2010 Shona joined the team at Long & Humphrey advising on all aspects of commercial and residential property, including landlord, tenant and agricultural land matters. Her expertise also extends to alcohol licensing and she has appeared regularly before the island’s Licensing Court bench.
As a general practitioner, Shona has experience in advising some of the largest local employers in aspects of employment law and is up to date with the most recent changes in the area of equality legislation.
The remainder of Shona’s practice relates to wills, probate and powers of attorney as well as mental health receivership applications which she can deal with sensitively for all concerned.
Having recently returned from a career break and some work in the third sector, Shona is pleased to be re-joining the team at Long & Humphrey and reconnecting with new and existing clients.
