Mark qualified as a Manx advocate in 1998 having trained at local firm Dickinson Cruickshank where he remained for a further 10 years. Mark was a partner within that firm's private client and property departments for 7 years where he established his reputation for sound advice and a commercial approach. Following the establishment of Long & Humphrey, Mark's service has remained in demand and he acts in many of the island’s significant transactions, including the recent acquisition of a number of prime office and retail sites for investment. In addition, Mark acted on the acquisition and development of one of the largest and most prestigious office and hospitality properties on the Island; being the newly developed 'The Old Courthouse' in the heart of Douglas.

During 2009 Mark has been retained to act for a large number of major national and local names including the operators of the Island's main hotel and public house chains in their various disposals and acquisitions.

Mark's expertise is also recognised in the private sector where he is instructed by a number of prominent landowners in respect of the sale of their land for future development or indeed the management of their estates on an ongoing basis.

Mark's portfolio extends to advising upon and where necessary representing clients in licensing and planning matters where again, he is the advocate of choice for many local and international concerns.

Mark's extensive client base and commitment to service means that he advises on the full range of private and business issues working with clients to provide real, workable solutions to whatever problem is presented.
