Stephen was enrolled as a Solicitor in Scotland in 1994 and admitted as a Solicitor* of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2000. He has worked in Scotland, England and the Caribbean before relocating to the Isle of Man in 2008.
Stephen has experience in both private practice and as in-house legal counsel specialising primarily in corporate and commercial issues. He has been involved in a wide range of corporate transactions including joint ventures, group restructuring and reorganisation, funding arrangements, private and public company transactions and shareholder arrangements.
Stephen is used to advising on start-ups as well as ongoing company regulation and corporate governance issues. He has a broad range of experience in share and asset purchases, property-based investment work and the investment funds field including fund launches, arrangements, capital reorganisation and sales involving collective investment schemes.
Stephen has contributed to the PLC Cross-border Doing business in … Handbook 2005, 2006 and 2007 (Doing Business in the Turks and Caicos Islands) and also the International Law Office Newsletters on subjects such as Telecommunications, Depositor Protection Regimes and Tax Information Exchange Agreements.
